Gordon Reloading Tool (GRT)
Description
Rather than serving as a static load table, GRT simulates the internal ballistic cycle by allowing users to enter detailed cartridge data, including propellant selection and charge weight, bullet dimensions, and other relevant variables. Using these inputs, the program generates projected pressure curves and muzzle velocity estimates. This enables users to assess whether a proposed load remains within acceptable safety margins and to understand how specific changes—such as adjusting charge weight or seating depth—may influence overall performance.

Frequently Asked Questions
No — GRT operates exclusively on desktop PCs, ideally running a Windows operating system.
To obtain the Gordon's Reloading Tool (GRT), you first need to visit the GRT Discord server, where the application is available as a downloadable ZIP file. After downloading, the archive must be extracted and the application installed locally. A Windows PC is required for native installation.
Running GRT on macOS or Linux is feasible only with advanced technical knowledge, as it requires configuring a Windows-compatible emulation or virtual machine environment. In all cases, GRT remains a local installation on a single computer and can only be accessed from that particular machine.
Personal load data can be stored within a local GRT desktop installation, but it resides only on the local PC. Transferring this data to other installations or computers is not straightforward. In the event of a system failure or crash, the data may be lost unless a manual backup has been created beforehand.
The final stable version GRT 2021.2030.NIGHTLY from 2021 remains available on the GRT Discord server. However, no official bullet, caliber, or powder updates have been released since 2021.
